The ProRing is statistically the best hand Armor in the game, and grants a resistance to Death attacks to boot. You may want to equip all of your party members with ProRings, with the possible exception of someone (preferably with a Ribbon) wearing the Zeus Gauntlet. You will find three in dungeons, but these are all very late in the game. It may be better not to wait.

The Protect Ring is statistically the best pair of gloves in the game, and grants a resistance to Death attacks to boot. If you're not "keeping it real" in terms of equipment slots, you should definitely equip all of your party members with Protect Rings. You can save some money by only buying one, since you will find three others late in the game.

The Protect Ring is an interesting item. While it offers nearly the maximum defense you can get in the arm slot with a low weight and magic penalty, its real advantage is its hefty magic defense bonus. Since defense is basically irrelevant in the back row, this is a solid piece of back-row Armor. You'll want to protect your white mage first, though a Ribbon acts as perfect magic defense against most Abilities, so the Protect Ring is best given to someone who doesn't have one of those. You can get more by killing Lamia Queens, who have a number of other fantastic drops (such as the aforementioned Ribbons).

The Protect Rings are the best arm gear in the game for mages, and you can find enough for all the ones you use (unless you really like mages). With a high defense and evasion combined with a bonus to Vitality, these are very nice arm pieces.
