The Dragoon's Jump command will remove the Dragoon from the fight for the current round. When he attacks in the next round, the attack deals triple damage (with his main hand Weapon). The attack deals normal damage with any offhand Weapon, which effectively cancels out the damage advantage from Jump (though you're still avoiding attacks by being off screen). The number of hits is not displayed when Jump is used, so it can be difficult to tell just how effective the command really is. Note that while it may seem logical for Jump to be a long-range attack, it suffers the usual Accuracy penalty for being used from the back row.
Dragoons are another heavily-armored front-line fighting class like the Knight and Viking. They are unusually effective against flying creatures, since all of their Weapons are Air elemental.
