The Genji Armor is, percentage-wise, the smallest upgrade of the three pieces of genji equipment. With a ridiculous penalty of 79 evasion, using this Armor will likely cripple your ability to evade attacks. This is a big liability in a dungeon where so many Monsters have nasty extra effects on their attacks, but the full Genji Armor set offers so much defense that other Monsters can barely hurt you. The Armor also grants resistance to Death, meaning that the full set grants resistance to all of the non-attack Elements except Body. If you manage to get a Dragon Shield, you can have a heavily-armored fighter with seven of the eight resistances, and very nice defense to boot.

Genji Armor offers the best Defense and Mag.Def on any body Armor for all of the Characters that can wear it. It also offers fantastic bonuses to all four major Attributes. If you're a Colosseum junkie, you may want to trade up all of the lesser costume-type Armors for more Genji Armors.
