The Bow is an interesting weapon. It's the least accurate basic weapon, and also does the least damage, plus you can't use a shield with it. The upside? You can fire it from the back row. Unfortunately, being in the back row also means you'll never be targeted with basic attacks and thus will rarely gain any maximum HP. Still, when a party member is injured and you can't heal them, or you want to protect a Character from a boss by putting them in the back row, a Bow will still let them attack. Just make sure to unequip it before casting Spells—bows have a massive magic penalty of 70%.
