The Ice Cavern is a dangerous place filled with Undead and other nasty Monsters. You'll deal with enemies that cause Paralysis, Stone, and even instant KO within, and some encounters can result in your immediate doom no matter what you do. Sound fun? Well, at least the dungeon is pretty short compared to the last few. Though you will have to traverse the dangerous bottom floor twice to get out with the Levistone.

The good news is that there's plenty of good Treasure to be had here, including the Flame Sword and the Ice Armor and shield. Plus, after this you will have access to the Airship, and the world will fully open up. And there are some spiky ice tiles on the bottom floor that act like the lava squares in Mt. Gulg, which can help cut down on nasty encounters.

To get to the Levistone, you'll have to step on one of the cracked squares around it, ending up in B3 in a room full of Undead. After climbing back up, you'll see a cracked square near a few chests not far from the exit. This will lead to the Levistone platform. After obtaining it, you'll need to fall to B3 again and fight your way back to the surface for a second time. Too bad you can't get Warp2 until the Class change (which requires the Airship), huh?

The Evil Eye that guards the Levistone casts powerful Spells, but is a bit of a pushover as far as bosses go. The real threats in the Ice Cavern are Monsters like the Mindflayers and Dark Wizards, both of which can make short work of your party. Take care, bring lots of Potions, and be ready to use a lot of Dia and Fire Spells. You need a bit of luck to get through the Ice Cavern, but the rewards are well worth it.
