The Bow is the best ranged Weapon available to the Thief, and if you have a Thief you'll definitely want them to be using one. This is the best non-magic ranged Weapon in the game, so you'll likely have a number of Fighter Types using them for most of the game.

The +2 Bow is very expensive, but it's a powerful ranged Weapon. You can save money by getting the Exotic Arms early, but you'll still want a ranged Weapon. At less than 1/6 the cost of a +4 Bow, the +2 Bow is a very good compromise.

Sure, the +4 Bow is the best ranged Weapon in the game, but 6,550 Gold?! That's a bit crazy. Unlike the other expensive Weapons, this Weapon is always worth having, but it might not be worth buying. If you find yourself rich at the end of the game with nothing to buy, well here you go. Just keep in mind that ranged Weapons don't work in Castle Fire anyway.

The Bow & Arrows is by far the best Weapon you can purchase for raw combat power. They're more powerful than the Great Sword, plus they can Attack at range. If you haven't earned better Weapons through Stealing or other means, don't miss the Bow & Arrows once they become available.

The Bow is an excellent Weapon if you have balanced statistics. With at least 20 Strength, you'll deal 16 damage with the Bow, allowing you to take out enemies that have run away and returned. At a fair price with a relatively low Agility requirement, the Bow is a promising starting Weapon.

Note that despite being a Bow, this Weapon doesn't offer any sort of ranged attack.
