When making a magic attack, the Earrings will increase damage by 25%. Equipping two Earrings at once will increase the bonus to 50%. A Hero Ring has the same effect as Earrings for this purpose. Note that "magic attack" is not limited to Spells; this includes any Ability that deals magic damage. Even Characters like Sabin can make good use of Earrings if you concentrate on the right Abilities.
