Series veterans may expect Lord British to play a vital role in this game, but you don't even need to step into his castle to win. You do start off pretty close by, though, and this style of castle is where you will find the amazing Weapon-producing Magic Ponds (the northern of the two smaller ponds).
Stealing from this castle is not recommended, as there are easier marks in cities, but this is definitely the style of castle you want to rescue Princesses in. Use the side of the entrance to the prison to catch the Guards that will chase you, and you can easily maneuver around and avoid having to actually fight any Guards to the death on the way out.

The B.C.. version of the Castle of Lord British is virtually identical to the one in A.D.., though the hints are slightly different. The head Cleric directs you to Brother Antos, who reveals that you must "search the stars" for his kin. Indeed, Father Antos isn't on Earth at all. Other than that, the castle basically serves as a convenient alternate place to gain HP while on earth, since Lord British offers the same HP service as he does in A.D.. That is of course assuming you have access to a Frigate in B.C..
The Castle of Lord British is an important Location in the game. A very similar Castle exists in the B.C.. era that serves most of the same functions, though you'll need a Frigate or Plane to reach it. There are no Shops in the castle, but there is a treasure vault as well as a King. The King (Lord British, in this case) will give you Hit Points in exchange for Gold. He will take 50 Gold every time you Transact with him, and give you a number of Hit Points based on your current total. Below 5,000 HP, you'll get 300. From 5,000–7,499, you'll get 200. Above that, you'll get 100, but he won't give you any more HP once you have at least 9,900, since you would roll over the maximum.
To enter the vault, you'll need two Keys. Killing a Guard in any town will win you two Keys, but Guards are tough customers, and in most towns one of them is invulnerable. There are sixteen items to collect in the vault, split between Weapons and Armour. Each one will give you a random Weapon up to a Light Sword or random Armour up to Chain Armour. Sometimes you won't find anything. Taking these items isn't considered stealing, so the Guards won't stop you.
The Cleric in the small room in the Chapel is Brother Antos, and asks if you've seen his father. Father Antos is an important character you'll need to meet later. If you have a Key, open the prison cell with a Balron in it. The Thief will follow you but won't attack, so just go around him. The Balron tells you that "Lithium" packs the 16th level, by which he means that you can find Tri-Lithium on level 15 of any tower or dungeon. (They start at level 00, so 15 is the 16th level.)
