Your game begins in the United States in this era. A land bridge connects Alaska to Russia in both this and the A.D. era, allowing you to explore most of the World on foot. You have immediate access to all four Time Doors, so you can enter any era you want. You'll also find a fully-stocked town in Europe and a village in Africa to buy equipment and Items. You can also climb the tower in South America if you want to hunt for treasure or Tri-Lithium. The tower in Egypt in the A.D. era is probably a better bet for exploration, however.
Each era has a sign that says when it is, and the sign for B.C.. is in Australia. You'll need a Frigate (and a Blue Tassle to pilot it) to reach the sign. You'll also need a Frigate to reach the dungeon in Greenland or the Castle of Lord British. The Greenland Dungeon appears in all eras except Legends, and is identical in each. (It doesn't appear in Pangea either, normally, but a well-known patch will add it there.) This is a complicated dungeon with very little treasure, and is probably best avoided.
The Castle of Lord British is almost identical to the one in A.D. except that it's harder to reach. It's convenient to leave a Frigate acting as a bridge from Europe to the castle once you have one, but it's not really vital that you visit this version of the castle.
