The Healing Staff is an interesting weapon. Used against most creatures, its attack score is ignored, and it heals the target instead of harming them. The exact amount of healing is similar to the Heal Ability, 30–60 points per hit. Every now and then, however, it heals as much as quadruple that amount, for reasons I am unsure of.

On the other hand, used as a weapon against the Undead, the Healing Staff is extremely brutal. Its 78 attack is enhanced further because of its family bonus, and the weapon deals extra damage on top of that. Interestingly, the staff appears to still heal even Undead targets, though the damage tends to outweigh this healing by a long shot.
