With the mystic KEY in hand, unlock the various Treasure rooms you've seen. Bring the TNT you find to the Dwarf Cave to open a canal to the outer world.
The Power Staff has no practical use, but it's far from worthless—6,172 gil away from worthless, in fact. If you're wondering why such a strange number, the explanation is simple. In the NES version of the game, the Shop screen showed the "buy" prices for items even if they couldn't be purchased, and the Power Staff's price was 12,345 gil.

If you have a front-line staff fighter, the Power Staff is a big upgrade over the Mage's Staff. However, if your only staff user is a mage, don't bother. Unlike most staves, the Power Staff has a magic penalty of 20, and no useful effects like the Mage's Staff.
