Ochus have high defense and HP, but thankfully their Attack is fairly low (at least compared to the other river creatures). They are Poisonous, but that should be no problem at this stage of the game. With three attacks, they can do a number on lightly armored foes, but shouldn't be able to significantly hurt your Warrior. Hydras and Crocodiles are a higher priority, but you should take out Ochus before focusing melee attacks on any Piranhas they appear with.

Neochus are dangerous foes late in the game, and that much more dangerous early. Your Warrior doesn't have much to fear, but with three significant attacks, Neochus are a mage's worst nightmare. Just for good measure, their attacks are Poisonous. Having almost 350 HP and a good Defense score doesn't help. Mercifully, they will only appear alone on rivers.
