You won't run into many Fire Lizards wandering around Mt. Gulg, but they do guard a number of Treasures. They have a decent two-hit Attack to go with high HP and moderate Defense, but their big trick is a moderate-damage Blaze attack. It's not a huge threat when there's only one of them, and by the time you run into groups of Fire Lizards in the Temple of Chaos Past, your party will likely be protected from Fire. They'll drain your resources in Mt. Gulg, but they aren't a threat to kill anyone.

SAURIAS have a Petrifying GLANCE attack, but are vulnerable to both physical and magical attacks. They are relatively rare, but don't put up much of a fight.
This beast's gaze turns the living to stone. You don't want to get stoned, do you?

Basilisks are dangerous, as you might expect, for their petrifying Gaze attack. Your white mage should have the White Robe and thus be immune, but the rest of your party may not be. Try to take these out quickly before they Stone too many party members. And make sure your Esuna Spell is up to snuff!

Geckorexes are tough, powerful, and can Petrify their opponents. They always appear alongside Reach Frogs, who share their vulnerability to Ice.
