If you thought the mix of creatures on the first floor was odd, welcome to floor 2! You can't run from either common encounter on this floor, so be prepared to fight. Dragon Zombies aren't any more dangerous than any other creature that has no tricks, except you can have your mages use Light Axes or the Mage's Staff to help soften them up. The other common encounter is with a pair of Ice Gigantes and a number of Winter Wolves, who can bombard your party with an Icestorm of their own (albeit one much less powerful than that of the White Dragons on the first floor). The Mage's Staff should clear out the Wolves while melee attacks take care of the Gigantes. You will also run into Rhyoses for the first time on this floor. They are very similar to the Chimeras they appear with, though their four attacks are more dangerous to lightly armored characters. They also alternate between the Chimera's Blaze and a new Poison-elemental Petrification attack which you shouldn't have to worry about. Dark Flans are more common on this floor as well. You will rarely run into Dragon Zombies paired with Vampire Lords, who should be taken down quickly with all available means due to their high Attack scores. Just remember that Vampire Lords like to cast NulFire, so stick with Light Axes and Dia Spells for your magical assault.

If you thought the mix of creatures on the first floor was odd, welcome to 2F! You can't run from either common encounter on this floor, so be prepared to fight. ZombieDs aren't any more dangerous than any other creature that has no tricks. The other common encounter features a pair of FrGIANTS and a number of FrWOLVES. The Mage Staff should clear out the FrWOLVES. You will also run into JIMERAS for the first time on this floor. They are very similar to the CHIMERAS they appear with, though their four attacks are more dangerous to lightly armored characters. SLIMES are more common on this floor as well. You will rarely run into ZombieDs paired with WzVAMPS, who should be taken down quickly with all available means due to their high Damage scores.
