Don't miss the save point, because you're about to have three consecutive major battles. The first starts when you approach the bridge, and is against Milon and four Ghasts. Like other zombies, Cecil can't do much against the Ghasts, so have him attack Milon or use Items such as an Hourglass1 to make the fight easy. Fire works well on the Ghasts, as does Twin. Milon will counterattack with Bolt1. Once he falls, you may want to return to the save point and heal. (Of course, that would make you a wuss.)
The second fight will occur at the end of the bridge, and will be from behind, so you can reverse your rows if you want to be prepared. Milon Z.. is your first elemental fiend, so bask in the awesome music. This can be a tough fight, so it's a good time to go all-out with Items you may have saved up. Milon Z.. is Undead, so Fire and Cure are both effective, as are Holy Arrows. Slow will also work, and you can really turn the tide by giving Cecil a Hermes and/or Bacchus to enhance his attack, but Palom's Fire2 is the most devastating attack in your arsenal. Watch out though, because Milon Z..'s attacks are Poisonous and brutal. Armor and Blink are effective in protecting your mages.
The third fight is more of a plot fight, as Cecil as a Paladin will fight his former Dark Knight self. The key to this fight is to sit there and just Parry until you win. Note that Cecil will "leave" the party when you enter the stone shrine, so if you want to save his gear for selling, now is the time to remove it. As a Paladin, Cecil starts over at level 1, but he also has 600 HP so it's OK. He'll level quite quickly descending the mountain. As an added bonus, Tellah gains almost every Spell in the game (though he loses the ability to randomly cast one), though he lacks the MP to actually cast Meteo.
