You'll find Castle Sasune in much the same condition as Kazus when you arrive: most of its population has been turned into ghosts. There is plenty of Treasure to be found here, but it won't be easy to collect it all.
Explore the main keep first to gather information and find some useful items, including the Blizzard Spell. Look for the notch in the corner of a wall on the second floor to find the hidden path to several secret rooms. You can walk through the walls on either side of the main stairs from the 3F secret area to find a Tonfa for your Monk.
You'll find a Bow and a variety of arrows in the east tower, and you can sleep in the Princess's bed to restore your HP and MP. The Holy Arrows in particular are useful against a number of early-game enemies, so you may want to give the Bow to a back-line character such as a Black Mage.
Finally, you should check out the west tower. Unlike the rest of the castle, there are enemies guarding this area, so be ready. All of the random Monsters found here are undead (and vulnerable to Holy Arrows). The chest on the top floor is guarded by a powerful Griffon, but the prize is the Wightslayer, a fantastic sword that is reason enough to use a Red Mage during these undead-heavy portions of the game.
Speak to the King when you return to receive the canoe. You'll need to use it to retrieve your airship, but beware: the encounters on the lake near the Sealed Cave are the same as those found on the ocean later, and are very difficult for this point in the game.
