Red Dragons are by far the most dangerous Random Encounter in Mt. Gulg, but fortunately they are rare encounters everywhere they appear. The only one you're guaranteed to encounter is the one guarding the Flame Mail, and you have the option to run. NulFire is a must against Red Dragons, as their Blaze attack can deal upwards of 200 damage. Their normal attack is also quite powerful, though very much preferable to Blaze. They have high Defense and Evasion combined with almost unbreakable Magic Defense. Your best bet is to buff your melee characters and hope for a few lucky hits.

As far as bosses go, Dragon Zombies are far from the most dangerous you'll run into. You may even run into them as a rare encounter in the Citadel of Trials before fighting them to earn your way out. They are powerful and Undead, with high Magic Defense that lessens the chances of Dia Spells having their full effect, but they don't have any tricks aside from a Paralyzing attack. Haste or Steel can help deal with them quickly, especially if they appear in numbers. You can't run from Dragon Zombies on their own, yet strangely you can when they appear accompanied by Vampire Lords in the Temple of Chaos Past.

Thunderbolt
Encountered In
As you might expect from a Dragon, the Blue Dragon has a powerful physical attack as well as a nasty Special Attack. Thunderbolt deals tremendous damage, so start the fight with a NulBolt Spell to counter it. Magic is basically useless against Blue Dragons, but with their low Defense scores they aren't hard to take down with basic physical attacks.
Like all other Dragons, Green Dragons are bad news. They have a single, nasty attack, but the real danger is from their Toxin breath attack. It is quite powerful, and unlike the other Dragons, it does not correspond to one of the basic three Elements, but rather Poison. The good news is that by the time you're liable to see a lot of these guys in the Temple of Chaos Past, you should have three Ribbons and an Aegis Shield, all of which will protect you against Toxin. They are still dangerous in groups, but at least they're not liable to wipe you out if you're prepared.
