Giant's Gloves
The effect of Saber stacks with the effects of Steel as well as itself.
Saber is an absolutely fantastic Spell—just not for the Black Wizards that can cast it. It will significantly increase your offensive prowess, but it's far from enough to make Black Wizards useful in melee. In any case one shot of Ice3 will almost always deal more damage than you'll actually get out of Saber. On the other hand, the Giant's Gloves let any character cast Saber on himself, which for actual melee characters is quite powerful. If you don't mind abusing the system a bit, multiple castings of Saber will continually increase your number of attacks as well as your per-hit damage, transforming any character into a killing machine.

While this is one of the best Spells in later versions of the game, TMPR and SABR are both bugged in the NES version and do not actually function at all. You can safely ignore this Spell.
