Magic Beast, Regenerating, Werebeast
Werewolves are similar to Warg Wolves—similar Attack, less HP but more Defense—except for one difference that makes them far more dangerous: their attacks inflict Poison. Early in the game, Poison can be extremely dangerous, or at least expensive to deal with. Werewolves are always your top priority target (though the Hill Gigas they sometimes appear with in the Terra Cavern, at least, are more dangerous).

Icestorm
Like other Wolves, Winter Wolves have 0 Defense but a decent Evasion score. They are low on HP and Magic Defense, making Fire2 a fantastic Spell to use against groups of them. Left alone, they can use their moderately powerful Icestorm attack. It's not terrible when used once, but three or four of them can devastate your party.
