Sahagins are weak foes that are no threat individually, but in groups can wear down your party. While they can't withstand many hits, they have a very high Evasion score so you won't always connect. Don't hesitate to blast them with Bolt2 later in the game, since you are likely docking at a town with an inn to recover your magic anyway.
Sahagin Princes have the high Evasion of their lesser brethren (which should be less of a problem at this stage of the game), and a pretty good Attack score to boot. Luckily they aren't very tough, and Lightning-based Spells can soften them up and take out the Sahagin Chiefs they often appear with in one shot. They are a bit more of a threat in the large groups you will see in the Temple of Chaos Past's water floor, but not by much.

R.SAHAGS feature high Evade and are best dealt with via LIT2. LIT or ICE are acceptable alternatives. When they appear in groups in the Sunken Shrine, a shot from the Zeus Gauntlet should clear them out, leaving only their WzSAHAG leaders.
