The Reptite Lair is one of the most frustrating Areas in the game for a completionist. The first room you'll come to is large and open, and four EvilWeevils are wandering around. Every now and then, one will dig a hole in the ground. Entering these holes in the right places is the key to finding everything in the dungeon. The catch is that where and when they dig these holes is unpredictable, though standing in the corners seems to make them more likely to dig near you. If you touch the EvilWeevil while it is digging, it will stop digging and resume walking, so you can interrupt them until they make the hole you want.
There are four destinations from the first room, one in each corner. The starting hole in the main room (and most of those that are dug) lead to the upper left path, which contains no Treasure. Entering these lower holes will start combat with nearby creatures, so be ready to fight. Most of the second rooms continue to lead on to a reptite-filled room at the bottom. In the hallway leading from that room, a side passage leads to a ladder that will take you back up to the first four EvilWeevils so you can explore each passage.
The lower right room has an EvilWeevil in it, and you can wait for it to dig an alternate hole to descend to the rightmost room on the third level. However, getting to the first room can be frustrating, because you need an EvilWeevil in the opening area to dig very near the bottom wall. You'll find a Full Ether on the bottom floor, or an Elixir in the Playstation version of the game.
You can open the chests in the bottom, Reptite-filled area without fighting the Reptites, if you approach from above or to the side.
When fighting Megasaurs in the dungeon, use a Lightning-based ability to lower they defense. Don't take too long in finishing them, because they will eventually release the energy in a nasty attack. (This is a bigger problem with later versions of this enemy.)
A similar strategy applies when fighting Nizbel, although he will release the electric energy several times during the fight no matter what you do. Marle's Aura Whirl Dual Tech or Robo's Heal Beam (if you have it) are good ways to quickly recover. Lucca's lack of healing ability is a liability in this fight. After winning, you will automatically be returned to Ayla's tent, and she will leave the party.
