The Crimson Robbers' Treasure

South Figaro Cave

It's time to return to another area where the Treasures have changed in the World of Ruin: the South Figaro Cave. You'll enter through what used to be the eastern exit and meet Siegfried, who goes on ahead. All of the areas you're familiar with feature the same set of encounters. The most common set of foes includes a NeckHunter, a Cruller, and two Humpties. All three can inflict Muddled, so consider protection like a Ribbon or Peace Ring to prevent this.

NeckHunters can open the battle with Mad Sickle their Muddled-inducing special, but will mostly stick to basic attacks. They are vulnerable to Poison, but both the Cruller and Humpty absorb Poison so be wary of using multi-target Poison attacks. Humpties may use Hug, their own Muddled special, on the second turn. Like NeckHunters, they too otherwise stick to basic attacks.

The Crullers have the most varied attacks of the trio. They and Humpties are both undead and share the usual undead vulnerabilities to Fire and Pearl. Crullers can use BrainStorm to inflict Muddled on the third turn, but can open the battle with Fire 2 and may also use Slimer to inflict Slow. Their Fire 2 is relatively weak, but they are still the greatest thread (Muddled aside) of the group.

The only other encounter in the area is with a single Dante. They have the most powerful basic attack in the dungeon, and often use QuartzPike to triple that damage. They can counter Magic with L.3 Muddle, but if you're protected against Muddled due to the other Monsters in the area, that should pose no problem. A good shot of Bio will make short work of a Dante, due to their weakness to Poison.

The Secret Path

When you reach what used to be the western entrance to the South Figaro Cave, you'll find Gerad, the Crimson Robbers, and Siegfried. The main exit is blocked off, so they do as the little girl in South Figaro suggested and jump on the turtle. Wait for the turtle to be in the right spot, then do the same. This leads to a two-part Secret Path. You won't find any more Dantes in this area, and Crullers now appear with Humpties but no NeckHunters. In addition to that Encounter, you will find trios of Humpties and pairs of NeckHunters. There are a number of chests in the area, but they've all been looted already.

The path splits in the West Secret Path. You'll see Siegfried looting the northern chest in the West Secret Path if you take that route, but you'll have to circle around and take the southern route to proceed. Once you reach the far side, you'll find yourself in Figaro Castle's Prison.
