Berserk increases the attack score of the target's main-hand weapon. Because of its low base power, intelligence plays a big role in Berserk's effectiveness. Each success adds the Spell's power to attack. Note that if you switch weapons, the effects of Berserk are cancelled, even if you switch back.

You can't buy Berserk until the end of the game, but it's a fantastic Spell, so it's well worth killing Magicians until you find a Berserk Tome. They are a relatively common drop, and Berserk will serve you well in many of the boss battles and even some normal fights for the rest of the game.

Bserk causes the target to attack uncontrollably, dealing extra damage but attacking random targets. This can be useful to buff your own attackers or to shut down enemy spellcasters by forcing them to attack physically. Since Berserk is technically a positive Status, you'll need Dispel to remove it.
