The TYRO has a ton of HP, but not a lot of Absorb to back it up. Still, it will hit you with its powerful (and accurate) single attack while you whittle away at it. Magic is next to useless against them, but FAST will help your melee Warriors cut through their 480 HP.

Tyrannosaurs are the rarest overworld encounter in the game, and the most dangerous single overworld enemy. They hit incredibly hard, and it will take a while to drain their 600 HP even with such low Defense. Spells are a waste of time against them, though Steel or Haste may be in order. Don't bother with defensive buffs, because their Accuracy is ridiculously high and Defense isn't going to help much against their 115 Attack. Just kill them as fast as you can.
Even in death, this monstrous skeletal lizard has not lost its taste for blood and flesh.

Tyranosaurs hit hard in general, and can use Meteor for major magic damage and Bite for devastating physical damage. They have no counterattacks and a weakness to Ice, but killing them before they kill you is no simple matter. A third of Tyranosaur Encounters are a pincer attack against a pair of them, which is even more deadly.
