Travel to the Dwarf Cave and give Smith the ADAMANT to receive Xcalber, and return to the Circle of Sages in Crescent Lake to learn of the time warp in the Temple of Fiends.
There's not much of note in Lefein—you can't even speak to its residents until you bring the SLAB from the Sunken Shrine to Dr. Unne in Melmond. Once you've done so, land your AIRSHIP at the north end of the peninsula and begin the long trek to Lefein. A townsperson on the east side of town will give you the CHIME required to enter the Mirage Tower. Don't miss the secret magic Shops where you can buy LIF2 and NUKE while you're here.

There's not much of note in Lufenia—you can't even speak to its residents until you bring the Rosetta Stone from the Sunken Shrine to Dr. Unne in Melmond. Once you've done so, land your airship at the north end of the peninsula and begin the long trek to Lufenia. A Lufenian on the east side of town will give you the Bell required to enter the Tower of Mirage.
Aside from the Bell, there is also a level 8 magic Shop of particular interest in Lufenia. Only two Spells are sold, but they are the most powerful black and white magic in the game. If you have a Black or White Wizard in your party, buy these Spells when you visit, even if you can't cast them yet. That way you won't need to make a return trip. Note that you can buy magic from this Shop even if you haven't learned the Lufenian language, though chances are you will learn the language before you reach level 25, when you can cast level 8 Spells.
