The Vampire in the Terra Cavern is a nasty foe who can hit for extreme damage. Pray that he uses Gaze often, as his normal attacks are dangerous and can paralyze you as well. Your best bet is to hit him with the best Dia and Fire Spells you have. His Defense and Evasion are high, but his Magic Defense and HP are not, so he is quite vulnerable to magic. When groups of Vampires appear in the Tower of Mirage later, a concentrated magical assault using your Light Axes and Mage's Staff will take them out with little effort.
