The unbroken eastern bridge leads to a battle with a General for the Excalibur, an awesome sword. The General has a ton of HP and resists all Elements, but his actual defenses aren't that great. A focused (and long-term) physical assault will eventually take him down.

The broken bridge to the west is actually quite solid, though you'll have to turn once you hit the end of the southern bridge to move on. Just walk through the apparent dead-end outcropping in the middle of the area to reach B7.
