Aeroses are unique among the elementals, in that they lack Defense in favor of very high Evasion (as one might expect of, well, air). You can use magic against them, but they have no elemental weakness and their HP total is high enough that this won't do much aside from soften them up. They don't hit terribly hard, but they appear in groups and can be a threat. Inexplicably, they are the only elemental you can run from. (How do you run from air?) They're worth plenty of experience, though, so it's usually a good idea to fight.
