Era
Dark Ages
You'll stumble on one of the nicer features of the Mountain of Woe right away: Rubble. These enemies will prevent you from using any Techs and are very hard to hit, but if you kill one, you'll gain a very nice 100 TP. It might be worth setting up a Physical party with enhancements to speed or power, or perhaps even with Berserkers equipped. The other enemies in this Area fall quickly to powerful single attacks as well.
Giga Gaia is a fairly straightforward Boss with helper enemies, in this case its arms. Take out the Defense Arm (on the right) first, since it can heal Giga Gaia. With both hands, Giga Gaia has nasty Fire and Shadow attacks. The Attack Arm still uses Fire, so if you picked up a Red Vest and/or Red Mail in sealed chests, they are useful here. You can take out the Attack Arm as well, but Giga Gaia can restore both arms at once, so it might be better to ignore it and take out the Head. Restored arms come back with half HP.
You'll automatically be returned to the Terra Cave after the fight, where you will witness an extended cutscene.
