GIANTS are the next step up from OGRES, with 240 HP and a powerful attack. Spells aren't very effective, but physical attacks are due to their mere 12 Absorb.

Ogres define the "meatwagon" type of enemy early in the game, but when you reach the Terra Cavern, the Hill Gigas takes over that defining role. They only make one attack per round, but with 38 Attack and 60 Accuracy, they are dangerous to even your heavily-armored Warriors. Their physical Defense is not high, but they have a whopping 240 HP, and will take some time to defeat. Don't waste offensive Spells on them, as their high Magic Defense and lack of weaknesses combined with high HP make them shrug off most magic. Steel and Haste can be very useful in a fight against Hill Gigas, however.

The Hill Gigas is a dangerous brute that requires your full attention to defeat. Offensive and defensive buffs work well against them, though their attacks are so brutal they can easily derail your plans.
