You can find a chocobo in the small pond in the northeast part of the city, though you can't go very far with it until you finish your quest here.

The only real attraction here is the Dragon Spire in the middle of the area. Once inside, you'll encounter a number of enemies similar to those outside. On the top floor you'll find almost enough gear to deck out a fulll party of Dragoons (the last two pieces can be found in Southwest Saronia when you have Alus in the party).
