Great Malboro, Hecteyes, Killer Mantis, Mantis King, Mega Parasite, Pit Fiend, Salamander
The areas around Mysidia are crawling with the toughest Monsters you've seen on the overworld. Salamanders are similar to Ice Lizards, only they spew Fire and are vulnerable to Ice. Mega Parasites can cast both Drain and Osmose, the latter of which can be especially annoying. A mage relying on Spells to regain MP will be out of luck if their MP is entirely drained, so carry some Ethers or Elixirs. Fortunately they are easy to kill, unlike the Hecteyes, who have the same Abilities plus a few more, and are a bit tougher. They can Confuse, Paralyze, and even KO you with their nasty magic attacks, and they resist everything. Non-elemental Spells and physical attacks can take them down quickly, though perhaps not quickly enough if you're unlucky. Mantis Kings are uninteresting enemies, just tougher versions of the Killer Mantises they accompany. They are still vulnerable to Ice, so take advantage. Great Malboros are an interesting enemy that grows more dangerous after round 1. Their attacks can inflict every temporary Status Ailment in the game, including Paralysis and Sleep, which makes you unable to avoid their 8 attacks in round 2. The best defense is a high evasion to begin with.
