The Warrior is your basic tank, able to use heavy Armor and capable of absorbing all kinds of physical attacks from enemies. Not only that, they can use the best Weapons and dish out plenty of damage. The only real downside to the Warrior is that their gear is quite expensive. Every party should have one to function as a tank, and having more can be fun as well, if you're willing to save up the money.
This novice swordsman, for whom all roads lead to war, is a fighter, not a lover.

The Warrior is your basic balanced physical attacker at the beginning of the game. They make exclusive use of most swords until you gain access to the Knight Job later. The big question with the Warrior is whether or not to use a shield. A shield gives you more chances to avoid attacks, but early in the game (especially with a Leather Shield) your Evasion is so low that you're probably better off using two Weapons. However, as better shields become available, consider using them against enemies that hit hard.
