The Opal Bracelet has the best Absorb available on body Armor for every Class except the KNIGHT and NINJA, but unfortunately there's only one in the game. Usually you will want to give it to either your second-slot character (if he is not a NINJA) or your healer, to keep them alive. At 10 Absorb more than the Gold Bracelet or Black or White Robes, the Opal Bracelet is a powerful piece of Armor.

The Opal Armor is second to none in terms of Absorb for your KNIGHT. A nice upgrade over the Ice and Flame Armors, the Opal Armor also grants resistance to Lightning, which can come in handy in the Sunken Shrine when you run into NAGAS. If you want to give your KNIGHT resistance to Fire or Cold, have him use the Ice or Flame Shield, because the Opal Armor is a bigger upgrade than the Opal Shield.

The Opal Shield, like the Opal Armor, offers resistance to Lightning. Like the rest of the Opal equipment, though, it is only usable by KNIGHTS, meaning NINJAS can't gain Lightning resistance without a Ribbon. The Opal Shield is a 4 Absorb upgrade over the Flame and Ice Shields, but you may still want to use them to gain resistance to Fire or Cold in certain Areas.

Unlike the Opal Armor and Shield, the Opal Helmet offers no elemental resistance, but it is a slight upgrade from the Silver Helmet for your KNIGHT. No Helmet in the game offers more Absorb.

The Opal Gauntlet offers the same Absorb as the ProRing, but without resistance to Death, and with two more points of Evade penalty. You can give them to your KNIGHT to save money, but in the long run you are better off using a ProRing. The only other Gauntlet you may want anyone to wear is the Zeus Gauntlet, for its LIT2 power, though it has 2 less Absorb.

The Diamond Cuirass has the most defense of any light Armor in the game, but it doesn't fit nicely into any particular niche. The magic defense and stats boosts of the White and Black Robes are more useful to mages sitting safely in the back row, and the lesser weight and agility boost of the Black Garb is better for a front-line fighter relying on evasion, at the cost of only 3 defense. In the long run, you may find yourself not using this Armor at all.
