The Vorpal is supposed to have a high crit rate, but due to the crit rate bug, it is just an inexplicably middling Weapon. Interestingly, its 17% crit rate is actually higher than the 15% it was intended to have—but crit rates across the board were intended to be much lower.

Looking at the Vorpal Sword's statistics, you may ask yourself "what's the point?" Well, in the game as it actually exists, there really isn't one. It's a weak sword, not even in the same league as the Ice Brand. However, the point of the Vorpal Sword was supposed to be its very high crit rate. Due to a bug in the game, crit rates don't work like they're supposed to, and this sword became pointless. Ironically, its intended crit rate is still lower than its actual crit rate (but not by much, compared to the vast majority of Weapons whose crit rates were supposed to be much lower than they actually are). As it is, the Vorpal Sword is more of a curiosity than anything.
