The Trident is a very nice upgrade over the Mythril Spear, and you'll find one in the Dreadnought shortly before getting a ship where it's Aquatic-killing trait will become useful. If you have a polearm user, don't miss this weapon. And if you left Gordon with a spear and give him the Trident in the Dreadnought, consider taking it off before he leaves when you return to Altair so you can use it on the seas heading to Deist.
