Wisdom

Effect Reduces spell failure chance, decreases the price of spells
Starting Value 10
Maximum Value 99
I am not sure of Wisdom's exact influence on spell failure chance. However, at 99 Wisdom, spell failure is pretty rare. Clerics don't need to worry about Wisdom at all, ironically, since their spells never fail.

The influence of Wisdom on spell prices is a bit easier to determine. spells drop in price by 20% from their initial cost if you have at least 41 Wisdom, or 40% if you have at least 73 Wisdom. Therefore, these are key values if you want to focus on spellcasting.

Wisdom

Effect Increases Magic Missile damage, decreases the price of spells, increases minimum sale value
Starting Value 10
Maximum Value 99
According to the manual, Wisdom affects your spell failure chance. However, that ability was swapped with Intelligence's influence over Magic Missile damage. As a result, Magic Missile damage is based on Wisdom.

Wisdom also affects the price to buy new spells. Since you'll want plenty of spells if you're going to be casting a lot, this makes Wisdom the most important spellcasting stat. (Though Intelligence is very important as well for non-Clerics).

Wisdom also seems to have some effect on the sale price of weapons and armour, though only on the low end. High Wisdom seems to raise the minimum sale price, but Charisma takes over in this department pretty quickly.
