Daemons are the only common world map Creature with a special ability. Their leg paralysis, which they may use along with a normal attack or even at range, prevents you from moving. Despite the name, it even prevents you from moving in a Vehicle.
On the upside, Daemons aren't that tough and don't dish out a ton of damage. There are worse things you can encounter.

Daemons appear rarely in the overworld, but you'll find them in dungeons starting on level 03. They have a damaging spell, so close with them quickly. Daemons are worth decent experience, and you'll find aggressive ones here and there in townes and such.
