You'll begin the game in the Lands of Lord British, just east of The Castle of Lord British. It's the most interesting Continent in the game, not because of its design or contents, but because it's the only one there's really any reason to explore.

The layout is pretty simple: aside from two northern islands that hold landmarks, and the central island where you'll find Mondains Gate to Hell, the Continent is one contiguous land mass. There's an inner sea which is fed into from the west, so travel is generally easier on the eastern half of the Continent.
