Shuriken are the most powerful Weapon in the game, but each time you use one, it is lost forever. Given how expensive they are, this makes them mostly useful against the last few bosses in the game. You can throw two per round from the relatively safety of the back row for massive damage.

However, there is a catch. Because Shuriken are lost after use, you'll have to manually re-equip them between rounds. This is a problem because doing so will negate any in-battle statistical buffs like Haste or Protect. In the case of Haste especially, you may actually be better off not using Shuriken in the long run.
