This huge Map is constantly changing. The beginning can be somewhat confusing, but after the first few sections your journey will be fairly linear. To begin with, head across the circle to trigger a cutscene that unlocks the warp gates back to Eden and Gran Pulse. Note that you will not be able to re-explore any part of The Tesseracts aside from the central platform once you are done here. This is strictly a one-time trip. To make describing the area easier, I will divide it into sections. Initially, three sections are available to you.
Section 1
If you look on the map, you'll see two paths leading from the middle platform, but only one continues past the first sub-platform. This is section 1, where you will find tough enemies and a number of Treasures.
Section 2
From the way you came in, with the save point in the bottom half of the middle circle, head left, then take the left platform to enter this section. This section has a few singular enemy encounters and five nice Treasures. Note that, once you complete section 3, you will not be able to return to this section.
Section 3
Section 3 will set you on the path to the end of the chapter. To get there, go as if headed to section 2, but take the right platform instead. Don't miss the Treasures on the upper level, accessible via a ramp on the left. Once you reach the statue, the area will be rearranged and you will find yourself in section 4.
Section 4
This section replaces section 3 (and section 2) on the map, linking back up with the central hub on the right. A platform on the left will lead to a lower level of the section. Once you reach this statue, you'll be transported to your first of three Tesseracts boss encounters, this one against a Jabberwocky and a Bandersnatch. When you are victorious, you appear in section 5.
Section 5
This section is laid out as a hexagon of hexagons, filled with nasty creatures. In the middle you'll find a new Centaurion type, an Immortal. It is well worth fighting, not only because it's the only one of its kind in the game (need to fill up that Datalog!), but also because it guards a room with four amazing Treasures. You can warp back to the central hub of the area by speaking to the statue that appears near the start point, but you can no longer access any previous sections. If you're looking to fill out your enemy Datalog, every enemy unique to The Tesseracts except the Sanctum Templar appears in this section (and will not appear again), so now is the time to do it. Once you reach the other side, you will be transported to another boss encounter, with a Wladislaus.
Section 6
Victory over the first Wladislaus reveals the final section of The Tesseracts, which is populated by Sanctum Templars and the two bosses you've already fought, but as normal enemies. This is one of the best leveling spots in the game, as the Wladislauses give 32,000 CP per kill (as do Jabberwocky & Bandersnatch pairs). However, once you move on, you can't come back, so take advantage for as long as you want now or forever hold your peace. You are still able to return to the entrance of Orphan's Cradle until you clear this section, though. Once you do, you will face the final boss of The Tesseracts, the Tiamat Eliminator. Upon defeating it you will return to The Tesseracts, and the portal to The Narthex will be open.
