Lightning and Hope travel the Scavenger's Trail, which is a long Map with some interesting encounters. The first half is pretty standard, with a few forks in the road leading to Treasures, but the middle of the Map holds one of FFXIII's few minigames. In this, Hope rides a Pulse Armament similar to the Dreadnought you fought earlier, and you have to walk down the trail killing enemies. You can simply walk over them to kill them, but you are rewarded based on both total kills and kills made with your sweeping blow attack, so it pays to be efficient. Check the Treasure tables for more information on the minigame rewards.
After the minigame, you'll come upon some tough battles, especially the Uhlan/troops combination. This is your chance to get full enemy intel on the first Targeting Beacon though, so if you're a completionist, don't miss it. At the end of the Map, you'll fight your second Eidolon, Odin. This is a tough fight, easily the hardest in the game so far, so be prepared. Afterward you'll get to use a Summon for the first time before the story switches back to Sazh and Vanille.
