They aren't hard to kill if you can hit them, but often your Warriors will be paralyzed before they even get a chance. HRM2 or FIR2 can take out groups quickly.

Ghasts first appear near the Marsh Cave and will quickly make your life miserable. Like most Undead, their attacks Paralyze, but just for good measure, they get three attacks. They aren't hard to kill if you can hit them, but often your Warrior will be Paralyzed before he gets a chance. They can chip away at your party's HP after locking them down, so it may be wise to use Dia2 or Fire2 to take them out quickly. The same strategy applies later when they start appearing in mixed groups of Undead.
Unable to fulfill their Focus, these l'Cie are just waiting to be put out of their misery.
