With Fynn freed, it's time to check out the newly opened stores in town.
Mysidia is most likely the last town you will visit during the game, which means it's the place to really splurge and spend some of that money you've no doubt been building up. There actually is one more Shop later, in the final dungeon, but you'll make plenty of gil before you reach it.
Your main task here is to visit the small cave in the southern part of town and put the White Mask on the statue within. You can also visit an unmarked building in the southwest and "speak" to the bookcase to learn interesting facts about various Keywords. Your next stop is the Mysidian Cave, which is a bit of a walk, but you can easily afford to carry Cottages (and likely have found a few recently), so you shouldn't need to come back here to rest.

Speaking to the mages here is hazardous to Cecil's health. He will variously be turned into both a Toad and a Pig, as well as Poisoned. You'll want to speak to the elder in the large northern building, who will tell you to go to Mt. Ordeals and provide Palom and Porom as companions.
There is a lot of good gear to buy here. You'll want Magus Hats, Gaia Gear, and Silver Rings for both Palom and Porom. You'll definitely want a Flame Rod for Palom, due to both its Wisdom bonus and the general usefulness of free Fire attacks on Mt. Ordeals. A Cure Staff for Porom isn't as vital, but it is a nice upgrade. If you have the money to spare, pick up as much Paladin Armor as you can as well, for the trip back.
Once you are back, complete your Paladin Armor collection and upgrade Tellah's gear, then speak to the elder, who will open the Devil's Road. You can now take it to and from Baron whenever you like.
