The Rune Axe is the third-most powerful weapon in the game, and the best non-sword you will find. Its accuracy is nothing to write home about, but your fighters should have more than enough strength to make that irrelevant. It's particularly strong against Spellcasters, of which you'll find a few in the final dungeons. Its ability to cast Fog 6 can also be fun in some cases, though it's not terribly reliable. Note that you can get these from Generals in Castle Palamecia if you're lucky.
