The Wizard Staff is likely never going to win you a tough fight, but can be quite fun to use sometimes. It casts CONF, which has a chance to inflict Confusion on foes not resistant to Status magic. Confused foes attack each other, but only with weak attacks, so this is primarily a defensive tactic. The result isn't very predictable due to the Spell's low Hit Rate, however.

The Spellbinder is one of those "fun" Weapons that is never really going to win you a tough fight, but can be quite amusing to use sometimes. It casts Muddle, which has a chance to Confuse foes not resistant to Status magic. Confused foes attack each other, so this has both offensive and defensive applications. The result isn't very predictable due to its low Accuracy, however.

The Wizard's Staff is an interesting weapon. As far as staves go, it is quite powerful, and with a low magic penalty, so if you have a front-line staff fighter, give it to them. Used as an item, the Wizard's Staff casts Scourge 16 on a random target (including your own Characters!). It can even target a slot with no enemy, missing entirely. It can be fun to experiment with, but it is not nearly reliable enough to count on in an important fight, and can backfire spectacularly.
