Lava Worms hit quite hard and accurately, but only once. In a previous dungeon they would be a noteworthy threat, but compared so some of the enemies in Mt. Gulg, Lava Worms are just another big beefy Monster. They are vulnerable to Ice, but their Magic Defense is quite high so you're best bet is sticking to physical attacks.
