OddEYES use their Paralyzing GAZE on every turn rather than attacking. They can't take a single hit, even from a Bl.MAGE, but their 42% Evade is hard to bypass early in the game. LIT or ICE will take care of them without any risk, while physical attacks will only hit about half the time.

Deepeyes are basically big, meaty version of the Gogglers you may remember from your Ocean sailing days. Instead of high Evasion and low HP, though, Deepeyes have a lot of HP but not much in the way of defense. They will alternate between a Paralyzing Gaze and a Flash attack that inflicts your party with Darkness, and a basic double attack that won't be much of a threat. You may want to take them out before the White Sharks they accompany simply because they're more annoying.
