Of all the poisonous creatures in the Elfheim area, Tarantulas are the toughest to fight. They don't have a lot of HP, but their decent Defense ensures that you can't take them out all that quickly. They don't deal out much damage, but they are Poisonous, so they tend to waste your time. Fortunately they are little threat by the time you start seeing large groups of them in the Terra Cavern. Just keep plenty of Antidotes on hand.
