The Steel Plate is a great piece of Armor early in the game, but it is quite expensive. A 9 Defense upgrade over the Chain Mail, it will make your Warrior virtually immune to most Monsters' basic attacks. If you're willing to risk taking a bit more damage on the way there to save money, you can even find a suit in the Marsh Cave. Whatever you do, don't pass up this Armor for very long.
